Dad is great!/snow walk!

We had a snow day and didn't get in the car as our little road doesn't get cleaned until whenever they feel like it. Our dinner out turned into take out from our fav. sushi place (California and spicy crab maki rolls for me ) as N knew that I could not do without, but apparently it was not practical for everyone to venture out. I'm not always the logical one, so I have to just go with it. It was still delicious and fun!

I've interrupted a Giada cook-along session with seafood from an ocean creatures puzzle and anything else that was within reach from the kitchen.

3rd birthday!

This was at 7:00 am. What can you do when it's the birthday?

the perfect tree (for us)

Searching for the perfect Christmas tree in the rain. Elsa was very excited to use the new umbrella that Aunt Brooke gave her as an early b-day gift. Luckily we didn't have far to drive as we were one of those people with a tree in trunk of our car. An SUV sure would come in handy.

perfect autumn day

After one of our weekly "meetings" at Starbucks, we had the perfect Autumn walk (or run if you're Elsa) through our neighborhood. I love it and know it will be cold and winter too soon!

me in a nutshell

* wasn't sure about having children, but don't know how I ever made it without my daughter (still look forward to her nap time and the rare night out w/ N or my girlfriends)

* excellent tipper (at least 20% unless it's really bad)

* rarely late (it's rude and just not classy)

* have an amazing (but kind of dorky) husband that I am crazy about and still don't know how we ended up together

* I love orange and green (not usually together)

* favorite treat is raspberry iced mocha (even though I have to dash in to a mall to get the best one), also love the macchiato at Starbucks

* I'm the oldest of 5, my 2 sisters probably know me better than anyone (but not better than my husband)

*love to be outside

* can't live in a neighborhood without trees

* hate meat but love seafood (except cold salmon unless it's sushi or maki rolls)

* I could eat mushrooms and olives on just about anything
* love vodka martinis

* never get sick

* addicted to lip gloss

* have almost every product from the Alba Organics Hawaiian line and feel the need to have a stash in case they stop making it

* love being a stay at home mom, but look forward to a new career someday

* I've never joined a gym (walking and yoga for me)

* love to buy tea even though I'll never drink it all

* almost everyday at 5:30 Elsa and I groove along to a Bellydance or Salsa DVD

* don't like taking my shoes off at parties (shoes are usually the best part of my outfit and then there's the whole bathroom sock situation)

* love to hang out with friends in smaller groups (not a fan of huge crowds)

* love to dine out and prefer sushi or Italian

* I've had my Saab for 6 years and love it, but starting to worry that maintenance issues may overwhelm us
($$$) * my favorite jeans are the Seven for all Mankind A-pockets that I've had since 2003

* you will probably find me wearing the above mentioned with a no label ethnic/bohemian shirt

* love Via Spiga shoes

* miss Gilmore Girls and can't find another show that I like half as much

* can't really sit still and watch a lot of T.V.

* I tend to over-react, but N under-reacts so it's a good balance most of the time

* not very organized but try to be and try to look like I am

* obsess over things like re-reading a magazine that I like or checking out the same pr. of shoes over and over before buying

* don't understand why people can't follow and honor traffic light rules
